Armoury Authentic
===Armoury Authentic===
Armoury Authentic refers to the standard of authenticityexpected to be found on an LHE armourydisplay during a Regia event. The primarygoal of an armoury display is to educateabout the correct appearance, nature and useof the arms and armour of the dateline portrayed.This level is higher than that of BattlefieldAuthentic, mostly because the weaponsused for combat have to be denatured to besafe. We have got the correct equipment withinthe society which should be highlighted andused to educate away from the battlefield. Werealise that it is early days, but it would be niceto see good quality, authentic equipment beingmade and purchased specifically for its use ona quality armoury display.
Armoury Authentic arms and armour are:
 * In the Encouraged or Optional columns ofthe AO kit guides. * Period specific weapons and armour includinghelmets. * Correct scabbard styles and suspensionmethod for swords and knives. * Riveted mail, of the correct period style. * Can be Semi-sharp or sharp, but good examplesof blunt weapons should also beavailable to allow the public to handle them. * Blunt weapons should still be of a more authenticshape, weight and size than thoseused on the battlefield. * Correctly sized, and if possible correctlyconstructed equipment (i.e. large, planked,leather covered shields). * Run by a person knowledgeable in theequipment and its use in the period, as wellas being able to highlight the difference betweenwhat would have been used then andwhat we use today in our military displays.
